Leaving a Legacy to Flicka
Make a Difference for Donkeys
Making a Will is one of the most important things
you can do to look after the people and causes you
care about after you are gone and once you’ve remembered your loved ones, you could make
a difference for donkeys too.
Flicka is a registered charity. We rely solely on the generosity of our supporters to survive and continue our vital work. A gift to Flicka in your Will, large or small, would make an amazing difference. It will allow us to protect donkeys and horses from abuse and neglect, rescue and rehabilitate victims of cruelty and give them a safe, caring home for life at our sanctuary. Your gift to our charity will also support our essential educational outreach work; giving the donkeys and horses a voice and ensuring generations to come are educated about their plight and their needs.
Why it is important to make a Will
Making a Will is the only way to guarantee that your wishes are followed after you are gone and, importantly, it can protect your loved ones. If you don’t make a Will, your assets won’t automatically go to those you care about or those you want to benefit; the law will decide what happens to your estate and this could create additional worries for those you thought you had provided for.
How to leave us a gift in your Will
If you haven’t already made a Will, it is recommended that you hire a solicitor to ensure that all legal procedures are followed. Contrary to popular belief, this is not necessarily a lengthy or expensive process! Most solicitors have their own website, but don’t forget to ask around for a trusted recommendation.
If you have already made a Will, but would like to leave a gift to The Flicka Foundation, you can make a simple addition called a codicil. Your solicitor will be able to arrange this for you. You can find out more in our Legacy Leaflet.
There are 3 types of legacy that you can leave: Pecuniary, Residuary and Specific. The differences between these are also explained in our Legacy Leaflet.

Legacies mean we can continue to be here for the donkeys and horses
that so desperately need us…. now and long into the future.
