As well as providing sanctuary to donkeys, ponies and horses rescued from situations of abuse, neglect and abandonment, we are proud to be engaging with our local community.
Members of the public are welcome to visit and experience our working sanctuary year-round, from Thursday to Sunday, 11am to 4pm.
We also offer pre-arranged educational visits and Donkey Experience sessions (7 days a week) for groups including schools, care homes, care services, clubs and societies.
We welcome groups of all ages, from all walks of life, to our sanctuary - including disabled people, wheelchair users and people with mental health conditions, as well as people who are disadvantaged, terminally ill or recuperating from illness.

Therapeutic interaction with donkeys can improve a person's physical and/or psychological well-being, as well as help them develop important, transferable life skills, such as confidence building, learning empathy and managing complex emotions. Donkeys are emotionally intelligent, sensitive creatures and their affection is boundless. They really come into their own when interacting with humans and have an amazing effect of making people feel relaxed and at ease with the world, leading to a mutually beneficial, empathetic relationship between both participants.
Hosting learning-based visits for children and young people forms an important educational outreach aspect of our charity's work. Spending time with donkeys teaches people to understand that they are sentient beings, which, in turn, fosters a positive, caring attitude towards animals.
These visits also offer our donkeys an interesting, enriching opportunity to connect with new people, which keeps them physically and psychologically active and stimulated!

Group talks can also be arranged to take place at your venue 7 days per week. Learn all about our charity's history, our vital work for donkeys and the important place we hold in our local community. We've visited hundreds of schools, care homes, social groups, clubs and societies to spread our knowledge and enthusiasm for our work and gorgeous residents and we'd love to visit you too!
