Lighting and Heat Lamps
For our main donkey barn. Four heat lamps either side of the barn will help to take the chill off the air; donkeys do not like the cold and damp, but love warmth! These will really make the barn much more cosy and comfortable for them. This is estimated to cost between £3500- £4500.
Rubber Stable Matting
Rubber stable mats are particularly good for horses and donkeys with ‘chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder’ - a breathing problem made worse by dust, which is in hay and straw - the mats are used in conjunction with shavings or compressed wood pellets. This condition can strike a horse or donkey at anytime, particularly if they have been stressed and as they age. These mats cost £30 each... for us to cover 10 stables this would take 60 mats, costing £1800.

In addition to the larger projects, smaller repairs are needed on a weekly basis - fencing, stable doors, walls, paddock gates, painting, water pipes, drinkers, roofing, barn partitions... the list is endless!
All our fundraising and donations currently go directly to the horses and donkeys - for their feed, bedding, veterinary needs and farrier costs. It leaves little for anything else, but well maintained housing and accommodation for the animals is also very important.
