Grace, Jenny and Jilly
Grace had been put through three live-animal sale rings in quick succession at just 12 weeks old; torn from her mother to endure the horrors of the meat market, alone and isolated... After discovering Grace, we then found out about two more ponies suffering the same fate - Jilly and Jenny. Three tiny foals who, at just 3 months old, should have been with their mums. With patience, hard work and diligence we tracked them down and brought them to Flicka.
Jilly was the most frightened and hid behind Jenny constantly, but little by little, with gentle coercion they began to trust us. Jilly took the longest, but now they are all very friendly, cheeky, tiny girls who delight us every day. Sadly, their story is not unusual, but these three friends will now be allowed to live out their lives at our sanctuary as a pony should - with lots of love, respect and comfort.
