Chalky arrived in March 2022, from a terrible situation. He was found all alone and unable to stand properly, lying in a muddy field. Shockingly, we were told he had been there for years and we were extremely worried about him.
Thanks to our incredible supporters however, we were able to move quickly and get Chalky to a safe place until he was fit for travel to our sanctuary. We were very worried about his shocking condition and overgrown hooves, but he had a full vet screen, bloods and x-rays on his feet and, thankfully, they were promising. Guided by his x-rays, our wonderful farrier was able to work on Chalky and since then his life has completely turned around.
Chalky is now the picture of health and such a sweet, gentle boy. He has a particular fondness for the ponies and especially likes to hang out with Little Bracken!
