Beautiful Beethoven, now in his 40's!
Many years ago Beethoven was rescued from a farm; he had a severe head injury where he had been beaten with a metal pipe. Vets worked miracles to save him, but unfortunately the injury left him deaf in one ear.
Beethoven became an ambassador for ill treated donkeys in the world when he made the journey of a lifetime to the crypt of St Francis in Assisi, to bring about awareness of how abused animals can overcome the odds.
Despite his age, he is known to be a rather naughty donkey!
