Gertie

Gertie arrived into our care in July 2024 with her lifelong companion, Daisy, after concerns were raised about both donkeys' health and future care. Although in better condition than Daisy, Gertie required veterinary attention, as well as dental and farrier treatment.

Following a full health assessment, we were able to address her dental issues and provide the specialist care needed to keep her comfortable in her later years. She remained faithfully by Daisy's side throughout their journey of recovery. Gertie settled in well at our sanctuary and enjoys the company of both people and the other donkeys in our Twilight Herd. 

Gertie is a calm, gentle and friendly girl!
