Finty & Sammy

Finty and her companion, Frieda (who has sadly since passed away), came to us in March 2024. They had been neglected for many years and we stepped in to save them when their owner passed away and they were about to be taken to the abattoir. They were in shocking condition; their crippled feet had been cut with a hammer and chisel, they were emaciated, covered in urine, dung and suffering with rainscald (a bacterial skin infection).

Finty's road to recovery took many months and we also suspected she may be in foal. Late at night on Monday 17th March 2025, we were privileged to be there quietly observing as we welcomed Sammy into the world! Finty has proven to be a wonderful Mum and Sammy is growing fast. He has never endured any trauma, so is a carefree young donkey! 

Finty is very friendly and gentle...
