George

We had a very earnest request in December 2009 to try and rehome an elderly ponies; just 11hh. George was rescued six years previously from abuse and neglect. Sadly his owners and rescuer have to now move to a place with no land, they were desperate to find a loving, caring home for him.

‘Donna’ approached the Flicka Foundation, it was our intention, because we are full to bursting, to help find an ‘appropriate’ home. However, it was decided due to his advancing years and because of the fantastic donation from Pets at Home, we were able to have a new double stable constructed; this helped to sway our decision for George.

He is the most delightful friendly pony. George has front leg issues and walks quite badly from his years of neglect, but his is very happy and we are more than happy to share his life!! How could anyone resist that face??
