Ben

Ben was born around 1974  and has worked hard all his life in a riding school. Sadly Ben’s story is typical of 'some' unfortunate riding school ponies, he was working all hours despite being lame with arthritis. The proprietors were intending to have him ‘disposed of’ - a very kind lady saw Ben’s plight and was very concerned at how hard he was being worked and ridden, once she heard his days were numbered she begged to have him – having already secured his place at the ‘Flicka Foundation’.

Ben arrived here in December 2005, rather underweight and some ‘dental’ treatment required as well as some veterinary treatment for his arthritis. Can you believe that on the day he was moved he was actually booked all day for a gymkhana, despite his condition!

Ben has now put on a great deal of weight and looks very well – he is a quiet little chap and tends to keep his own counsel, his companion is Cara.
